Don't let the cold stop you from enjoying your outdoor activities. You can enjoy your adventures with heated clothing, no matter the weather. Whether it's a mountain expedition, a snowshoeing trip, or just a simple break outside, these garments are essential to keep you warm. Here are seven tips to get the most out of them and optimize their effectiveness.
1. How do your heated garments work?
Chlorophylle's heated clothing range is equipped with ewool® technology, which allows you to adjust the heat based on your needs. Each product has a button to choose from three heat intensity levels. You can adjust the temperature of your heated jacket or mittens depending on the activity and external conditions.
For example, during more intense activities like cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, it's best to use a low setting to avoid overheating. During breaks or prolonged inactivity, like on a ski lift, switch to high heat to stay warm. The ability to regulate the intensity provides consistent and comfortable warmth, no matter the time or effort.
2. How long does the battery last in your heated garments?
The battery life depends on the intensity level chosen and external conditions. For heated mittens, you can expect about 7 hours on low intensity, 3.5 hours on medium, and 2 hours on high. For the sleeveless heated jacket, the durations are between 5 hours (low intensity), 3 hours (medium intensity), and 2 hours (high intensity). Recharging the batteries is easy, and once recharged, your garments will be ready for your next adventure.
3. The user manual for the heated jacket
To maximize the effectiveness of your heated jacket, it's best to wear it close to your body. This allows for better heat distribution and ensures optimal insulation. When the jacket is well-fitted, the heat spreads more effectively, especially around the chest and back, where you need it most.
Additionally, when doing physical activities like snowshoeing or cross-country skiing, keeping the heating function off is recommended to avoid overheating. Once you stop for a break, you can activate the heat to warm up. This way, you can fully enjoy the benefits of heat when you need it most while avoiding unnecessary energy loss during exertion.
If you plan to stay still for a while, like during a break or a photo stop, feel free to layer the heated jacket with an extra layer (like a down jacket or shell) to retain the heat more effectively.
4. The battery won't hinder your movements.
Worried about the battery affecting your movement? Don't worry! Lightweight and discreet, the batteries won't hinder your mobility in any way. The heated mittens and jackets are designed to provide complete freedom, even during intense activities. You’ll notice their lightness allows you to move freely throughout the day.
5. Who are heated products for?
Heated clothing is perfect for everyone – whether you're an elite athlete or a casual outdoor enthusiast. These products provide extra warmth during breaks, whether in the mountains, on a chairlift, or during a snowshoeing hike. They're also great for those sensitive to the cold or with circulation issues, keeping hands and body effectively warmed.
6. Enjoy your favorite activities longer
One of the greatest benefits of heated clothing is that it allows you to extend your outdoor activities, even in cold weather. Whether hiking, biking, or skiing, the added warmth will keep you comfortable longer and reduce fatigue caused by the cold. You can fully enjoy your winter adventures without worrying about freezing temperatures.
7. Tested and approved products!
A brave team tested our heated products during an expedition in the Mont-Valin mountains, with temperatures around -30°C. The goal was to ensure their performance in extreme conditions. The heated jacket was a must-have for staying warm during lunch breaks or even overnight in a sleeping bag. Testimonials from our collaborators, like Claudie, marketing director, who appreciated the lightness and flexibility of the heated jacket during her expedition, all agree that the products are efficient, practical, and reliable.
Wildlife and nature photographer, Éric Deschamps, also found the heated mittens perfect for his long hours of outdoor observation. A real asset for those who love wildlife watching, even in freezing cold!
