T-shirts designed and made in Quebec
What do unisex organic cotton and recycled polyester shirt, two ambassadors and their wildlife photographs, a team of creative designers, and local designers do? The result is a 100% local project of which the entire Chlorophylle team is quite proud! To celebrate Earth Day, let us introduce you to our two t-shirts The Fox and The Polar Bear, designed and made in Quebec.
Being an actor in change
At Chlorophylle, we believe that every action, no matter how small, can make a difference. With this in mind, we set ourselves the challenge of reliving a local experience - after designing our Chicoutimi and Saguenay coats and the Fjord jacket! - a unisex t-shirt that is 100% locally designed. First, there was the choice of a 100% organic t-shirt (made of recycled cotton and polyester) that was not dyed. The selection of two images from the impressive gallery of our ambassadors Éric Deschamps and Mario Cyr then quotes testifying to their love for Nature. Finally, our designers assembled all the pieces of the puzzle to launch the production made in Quebec by the Quebec company Carbon Neutral Attraction. In conclusion, we offer two sweaters for which $10 of the profits will be donated to CPAWS Quebec, a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection of nature.
Designing a sweater in Quebec
Last fall, when we introduced our locally produced Chicoutimi and Saguenay coats, we challenged ourselves to design and produce one project per year entirely in Quebec. Our designers tell the story from the inside: "We wanted to put forward our committed ambassadors, Mario Cyr and Éric Deschamps, who are in a way our eyes on what's happening on the planet. They are both part of nature and our clothes help them blend in with the environment. They always try to leave no trace, reduce their ecological footprint, and above all, respect the places and animals that inhabit these territories."
The story behind the image
The wilderness photographer Éric Deschamps nicknamed Lionne, this beautiful fox crossed in the Magdalen Islands. His meeting with her was one of the most beautiful moments of his life, he does not hesitate to say. "What was magnificent in her environment was the sand dunes typical of the archipelago. She took advantage of the little snow and the strong winds to make her hunting technique much easier. I could sometimes stay on top of a dune while Lionne was a little lower walking her territory. It was on an occasion like this that I was able to capture that moment where you can see Lionne walking up one of her dunes," he recounted in a post on his Instagram page. Admit it, it's a privilege to witness the encounters of this enthusiast and the animals he comes across via his photo lens.
The polar bear, an emblematic animal of the Arctic, has a front-row seat to climate change. When we asked Mario Cyr which animal he would choose for this project, he didn't hesitate to tell us about the polar bear. "In the Arctic, the ice is getting scarcer and scarcer and the bears are more and more on the ground. The ice has decreased by 2/3 in the Arctic during the summer for the last 30 years. Within 40 years, the remaining ice will be completely gone, making it even more difficult for polar bears to hunt seals, which use the pack ice as a platform to catch their prey," he says sadly. Mario Cyr is also the first person to dive alongside these majestic mammals. He has a special relationship with this Canadian icon.
$10 from each shirt sold will be donated to CPAWS Quebec, the Société pour la nature et les parcs, which is creating a network of protected areas across Quebec.

Evolution and movement: a garment that changes
Get ready for a unique sweater! Our organic cotton is natural - no dyes, no chemicals, just softness, and has been blended with 100% recycled polyester. The fabric is certified organic by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and Fair Trade (FT). All inks used to dye this fabric are water-based and non-toxic, making it an environmentally friendly choice. And just like the world around us, materials will change over time, making your sweater a little different every time you choose it. Who knows what color or texture you'll get in a few weeks. Admit it, that's part of the fun. Get ready to stand out with your style and lasting look.
Made in Quebec
In each garment we produce, we always think about our eco-responsible approach. This time, we have added a local design. In short, we could not fail to mention our partner of choice, the Quebec company Carbon Neutral Attraction, which has seen to the production of our two Quebec products, The Fox and The Polar Bear in Lac-Drolet, Quebec. We chose them because of their responsible management, their eco-responsible actions, the use of environmentally friendly products, and the fact that in each of their mandates, they seek to push their limits to reduce their carbon footprint. Like Chlorophylle, the Attraction team is an actor of change and thinks about future generations and the legacy of a healthy planet.
"It's by rallying together that we become stronger and come up with a beautiful 360-degree product. Chlorophylle is us together", concluded our designers. We are proud to announce that $10 from each shirt sold will be donated to SNAP Quebec, la Société pour la Nature et les parcs, which is creating a network of protected areas across Quebec. Thanks to their work, we can dream of long-term protection of the boreal forest and sound management of existing protected areas.
